Immigration New Zealand recently released fairly substantial policy changes in relation to residence visa settings which will take effect in August 2026 – as well as the usual steady stream of other rule changes.
The Immigration (Enhanced Risk Management) Amendment bill currently progressing through Parliament also seeks to introduce a new infringement penalty offence for employers.
These policy changes can have real consequences for employers – including anything from recruitment delays and retention issues to possible compliance risk.
In this webinar for HR professionals and business owners, immigration expert and Lane Neave Partner Rachael Mason will provide a clear, practical overview of recent immigration updates and what employers need to know to stay ahead of the curve. Presented in partnership with HRNZ.
You’ll learn:
- What current and upcoming immigration policy changes are relevant to employers.
- How these updates may affect existing staff and future hires.
- Where employers commonly make mistakes.
- How to confidently manage immigration issues within your business.
Designed specifically for employers, this session will focus on practical guidance and avoid legal jargon.
