Immigration

Mark is an internationally recognised New Zealand immigration expert, with a specialised focus on investment/business visas, corporate migration/mobility services and resolving highly complex visa eligibility issues.

He is particularly known for his industry-leading expertise under the Active Investor Plus visa settings, both in the private and public sectors, having assisted the New Zealand Government in the design and implementation of the current settings, as well as representing a large number of applicants under this policy, and the prior investor visa settings, from multiple jurisdictions.

He has added value to private and corporate immigration clients for more than 25 years, with the provision of market-leading strategic advice, as well as donating that expertise for those in need. This includes leading the pro bono contribution Lane Neave made to the victims, and their families, of the Christchurch Mosque shootings.

Mark is recognised as a thought leader in the field of New Zealand immigration law, regularly publishing pieces of work that add value to the discussion on immigration developments. His input is often sought on visa policy changes prior to implementation by the New Zealand Government.

He is the most recent convenor of the New Zealand Immigration and Refugee Law Committee of the New Zealand Law Society. Prior to becoming a Partner at Lane Neave, Mark lectured in immigration law at the University of Canterbury for a number of years.
